Feeding
The cattle are all wintered at the home site which is 1 mile east of La Salle on provincial highway #247 and trucked to our pastures (~50 to 75 miles away) for the summer months.
All our pastures are a combination of bushland and native grasses, and the calves receive no creep feed.
The winter feed for the main cow herd consists of a variety of baled hay (mostly grasses) fed as round bales.
We manage our cow herd much the same as any commercial cow/calf operation which re-assures us that if our cattle work under our management then they should work in any commercial cow/calf operation.
